Teaching to Change the World

Leaders create a vision of what's possible and then engage others in realizing that vision. Inspired Teaching is passionate about fostering teachers who lead students to achieve beyond their perceived limits.  Teachers are the most influential school-based variable in student achievement. An excellent teacher can alter the life trajectory of a child, increasing their aspirations and their chances at personal and professional success. Coursework and mentoring in the Inspired Teacher Certification Program focuses on the skills and knowledge necessary to creating dramatic changes in student achievement and attitudes.

Professional Learning Community Initiative

While outside experts can play a role in fostering positive changes in classroom practice, Inspired Teaching believes that the potential of teacher-led professional development is largely untapped. Inspired Teaching has facilitated lesson studies, teacher inquiry groups, and other forms of teacher-led professional development since 2000. Program participants and alumni who are interested in developing a professional learning community initiative at their own schools are encouraged to use the organization as a resource to start teacher study groups at their own schools.
